The other thing about Revolutionaries, though – and they stash this away in the timeline at the beginning, but:
Apparently, the first Action Man was CHRISTOPHER FREAKING MARLOWE.
That… that’s a hell of a thing to bury, IDW.
(Also WHY THE HELL is your flagship book not Gay Elizabethan Spy Adventures?)
Fic Prompts: Transformers Tuesday
Cybertron was massive. Covered in sprawling cities and home to sentient technological lifeforms, one could be forgiven for assuming it was all function and noise. But Cybertron actually hosted a diverse ecosystem – all mechanical, of course, but similar enough in concept that someone from an organic world could see the wildlife for what it was.
What it was at the moment, Shrift decided, was an utter nuisance.
“Shuriken, the spider-bots got into the supplies!” the small neutral complained.
The large Decepticon looked over from the shelter he and his brothers were trying to put together and cursed under his breath. “Ah no, they’ve wrecked the signal booster! So much for long-range comms.”
“I guess we just…wait until the next cycle and hope another patrol notices us?” Striper suggested when Shrift and Shuriken returned to the shelter.
Shuriken shook his head. “This far out on the bluffs? Only sentients we’re liable to meet are Autobots. And I don’t think anybody here wants that.”
“Nope,” Shrift agreed, wincing.
“Not really, no,” Cryo muttered.
“Hard pass,” Striper shuddered, rattling his wings. “But, uh…should we be worried about anything else?”
The other members of his gestalt looked at him suspiciously. “How so?” Cryo asked.
Striper shrugged. “We never get sent on important missions. We’re bait for Combiner hunters. So why would Starscream send us out to the bluffs?”
They’d all considered this, of course, but saying it out loud seemed to be tempting fate. As if on cue, the ground began to rumble and shake.
“You just had to say it,” Cryo hissed.
And then the Driller erupted from the ground.
Today’s thought – if Pharma was still the DJD’s medic when Megatron defected and Tarn hooked up with the Warworld crew.
IMAGINE Pharma and Deathsaurus in a face-off over who’s keeping Tarn company at dinner that night. Deathsaurus all growls and flared wings; Pharma all icy disdain.
Pharma just wants intel for the Autobots; Deathsaurus just wants to protect his crew; both of them want Tarn more than they want to admit.

Oooooh myyyyyyyy. 😀
Seriously, I LOVE the idea of Deathsaurus and Pharma snarling over who gets Tarn – purely for their own ulterior motives, of course. Ahem. 😉 And neither of them quite ready to admit how much their affection for the head of the DJD has been creeping up on them. And, meanwhile, Tarn is probably solely focused on those ulterior motives, and completely oblivious to the genuine feelings both of them have been developing for him…

I’ll always share his wise words.
God bless this man who did bring so much joy to so many people. His legacy will remain.
May he be with his beloved wife again.
Thanks for the happiness, Mr. Lee.

(part two, there will be many parts I’m sorry) It creates a lot of tension and angst as Pharma feels he’s potentially being replaced and isn’t exactly into the idea of sharing his bae, but after he and Drift manage to bond things sort of work out. It’s not an ot3 quite yet at this point and Drift kind of backs off. Then the war stuff happens. Drift doesn’t have much contact with either at that point, but I might reconsider that now if I ever actually write this. (once again to be continued)
(Part 3) Skip to MTMTE timeline. Most canon events remain intact including the Delphi incident/Pharma’s dealings with the DJD (and something a little more personal with Tarn). Luna-1 is where things diverge pretty heavily and Tyrest is more welcoming to the Lost Light crew (he’s up to something a bit different/playing the long game) so they’re around for a little longer. Drift and Ratchet have had time to bond/develop feels.
Drift can sense Pharma is remorseful despite not being willing to admit as much and it reminds him of being Deadlock so it motivates him to friendship the hell out of Pharma. It works out for the most part but isn’t especially easy (Drift did cut off his hands after all). Ratchet isn’t as quick to let Pharma back in his good graces and Drift ends up kind of being the bridge between them. Ensue ot3 nonsense once/if forgiveness is achieved.
(part 4) so that motivates Drift to try and friendship the hell out of Pharma. Eventually it works, after a lot of drama and the like. It takes Ratchet longer to forgive Pharma even though he’s still got them feels and Drift kind of serves as the bridge to forgiveness between them. Tyrest and Lockdown also want in Pharma’s metaphorical pants. Tyrest is more lowkey about it. So cue Lockdown vs Drift/Ratchet drama as well and Pharma being in the middle of it.
(part 5) so basically just a lot of somewhat ridic gay drama. the end. I’m unsure how well it would translate to actually being written tbh. There are strong themes of friendship/family/etc as well as ‘romance’ since the story involves other characters and even ships. It’s like this whole big thing in my brain and I like to tell myself it’s got a little of everything. This is the end of my rambling and I hope I haven’t overshared. Thanks for giving me a platform to talk about my fav nerds.
I LOVE this, and especially the idea of Drift friendshipping the ever-loving hell out of Pharma because he’s got a soft spot for other folks who want to atone, as well as Lockdown trying to seduce Pharma out form under Drift and Ratchet (possibly literally). Thank you for sharing this! ❤

Oh this would make me a salty old bitch if I saw people bitching about this. Ugh. I get not liking a fic, but shit. Roll your ass by it and ignore it. Also surprise! There’s a way to block it on Ao3 if it bugs the heck out of you that much. =/ Man oh man. Of all the things to bitch about, they’d bitch about a fic being regularly updated.
I know, right? 😀 I get that if you’re following a tag avidly, you might have a moment of letdown: “Whoo, new fic – oh it’s YOU again.” But that’s really a problem of affluence, to be honest. There’s so much good stuff out there.
In absolute fairness, though, I haven’t seen this that often, and I think the real lesson out of this is “DC is not allowed to read Fandom Secrets anymore”. There’s some enjoyable and sweet stuff there, but a real subset of that community has sprung up for whom fic writers just can’t win, whatever we do.

Every time I see a regularly updated/popular/whatever fic/ship that I don’t like, I think to myself, “I hope that makes someone else’s day” and scroll on by.
That is a lovely and generous response. ❤

Bah! Kids today with their easily accessible fanfiction archives with working tags and search functions. *chews on a lemon*
A lemon-lemon, or a *waggles eyebrows* lemon? 😉
OOOH. I like this, and also – what if Pharma sussed out that Drift had a secret in the basement? He’s sharp, and he’s familiar with what it looks like when someone is hiding something they’re conflicted about doing For The Greater Good. And maybe talking with Rung confirms his suspicions, and he manages to confront Drift, and ultimately expose Overlord’s presence and prevent his breakout…
